The tools that help us (PR)

thupr (the Tools that Help Us – PR) is a series of small, informal events with a ’show and tell’ format – suppliers offer attendees a chance to try out their products in anger, ask questions, start discussions over a coffee or a beer on  a friday afternoon in Central London.

early June: Social Media Measurement (revisited)

Past events:

thupr1: Friday January 22, 2010 – databases and distribution services

thupr2: Friday February 5, 2010 – social media measurement tools

Here’s the format:

Suppliers are invited to demonstrate their services

-          They have a maximum of 5 minutes, no slides, to introduce themselves

-          They have a table and WIFI access, and people can, in their own time and order, mingle with them and have a product demonstration

-          They share the costs of the teas/coffees for the people attending (but do not pay to attend).

If you are a supplier wanting to attend or share an event, please use the thupr wiki.

Guests: welcome.

-          There’s a small charge on some of the events to help ensure that people who say they’re coming actually come, covers some costs and  go towards room hire where required.

-          This is as much about the meeting colleagues as about meeting suppliers: until we’ve talked to colleagues, we have no idea if the experience is positive. And unless we talk to the suppliers, they don’t know what we need.

-          Bring your own laptop, phones, netbooks if you want. I’m guessing but they may prove useful.
