Welcoming myself back

The last few months I haven’t blogged much. I have been hugely busy, and Christmas fell in the middle, but there are three big reasons that I haven’t been able to post much here.

The first is that I am now working with matrix management training specialists, Global Integration half time – mainly online. A lot of what I’m doing is internal and based around the blog.If you’re interested in the company, it helps large., complex organizations become faster, more efficient, more pleasant places to work. The second is that I have been without any decent broadband, following a move. What was supposed to be easy turned out to be quite hard.If I thought before that broadband has become an important utility, I am now more convinced than ever. Over the past three months without a decent connection, I have missed out on tickets for things, have halved my productivity, have been far less connected with colleagues, friends and family, and have been missing the ability to shop online. So I probably paid far more for Christmas than I needed to.

Incubator/accelerator programme The Difference Engine has extended it’s deadline for applications, for various reasons, the most important being that it gives applicants worldwide longer to apply.

As Jon Bradford, the founder, explained, he’s had endless invites to talk at events that he can’t attend ahead of the closing deadline

So it makes sense to push things back, as he explained on The Difference Engine news blog.
