For media/bloggers: The Difference Engine

The Difference Engine is a seed accelerator programme that selects about ten companies per round, providing funding of £20,000 per team, along with support and mentorship.

The application process for the second Difference Engine programme  running  January 2011 closed on October 3, 2010.

This times programme is funded and supported by a variety of organisations including One North East, Middlesborough and Sunderland City Councils.

Mentors come from a variety of backgrounds and include serial entrepreneurs, technology experts, and professionals such as lawyers, marketing specialists, accountants and venture capitalists.
