A taste of France arrives in Didcot

Chateau Pesquie

Fast establishing itself as one of the best venues in Didcot for fantastic wines at reasonable prices, the Café Bar @ Cornerstone is hosting a wine appreciation evening on November 1, 2011. Guest wine guru will be third generation owner and winemaker Frederic Chaudiere of Chateau Pesquie, rapidly now being acknowledged as the top Cote du Ventoux (Southern Rhone) wine estate.

Like most of the wines to be found in the Cornerstone Wine Café, Pesquie wines won’t be found inUK supermarkets: their wines are sold around the globe into some of the finest restaurants, bars and hotels.

Details of event:

Date:                    Tuesday November 1, 2011

Time:                    7.00 pm

Place:                   Café Bar @ Cornerstone

Format:               Frederic Chaudiere will talk attendees through each of five separate wines from his estate, some of the best examples of Rhone wines available today, from a fresh, flowery Viognier which can offset even strong food flavours like smoked fish and goats’ cheese, through to the Artemia, a rich Syrah Grenache blended red wine, ideal to enjoy with game. Each wine will be offered for tasting along with food tasters to complement.

The bar will remain open as usual, and a limited quantity of the wines will be available for sale after the event.

The cost for a one person ticket is £45 and for a two person ticket £65. The price of both a one person and two person ticket includes wine tasting, taster food and a presentation box of two wines to take away. Bookings and payment are required in advance and can be made by calling into the café bar or phoning 01235 815670 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting            01235 815670      end_of_the_skype_highlighting.
